Momo is the original Bob Perry layout that also had a beautiful pilot berth outboard of the settee on the port side of the main salon. As a result, she sleeps up to seven in three cabins. Starting in the forward V stateroom, with a double custom mattress, side shelves, hanging locker and ample storage underneath. The enclosed head is to port with a NEW marine composting toilet, shower, vanity with stainless steel sink and hot & cold pressure water. The main salon is traditional with port and starboard settees, the outboard pilot berth on the port side, and a centerline double drop leaf teak table.  There are bookshelves outboard of the starboard settee. Next aft to starboard is a large sit down forward facing Nav station and chart table with storage outboard and below. Opposite on the port side is the famous Valiant Bob Perry galley with ample space and a recent propane stove and oven. Just aft of the bulkhead is the aft stateroom with large double berth is to port, with a double mattress for ultimate comfort at sea, a locker and a dressing seat. It is a great cabin that offers a wonderful sea berth also. Aft of the nav station on starboard are two large lockers. The companionway stairs are removed for access to the walk-in engine room. Mechanical The Valiant engine room pretty amazing because you literally can walk in! The Valiant 40 is simply the best engine access you can hope for. It is a breeze to work on with easy access to all systems. The engine has been rebuilt and has been highly complemented by every mechanic we have used. She has been regularly maintained and it shows. Sail and Rigging She has had her chain plates replaced and she has all new standing rigging as of 2011. The Valiant is a proven offshore vessel with a true cutter rig with keel-stepped mast. The mast and boom and all the rigging were replaced about 10 years ago. The cutter rig provides a divided sail plan so that the sails are smaller and easily managed. The mainsail has mid boom sheeting to the traveler just forward of the dodger. Both headsails have Schaefer Roller Furlers and all lines are led to the cockpit for easy single-handed sailing. Hull, Deck, & Ground Tackle Everything on a Valiant is seriously overbuilt and Momo has been upgraded and restored several times in her lifetime. Momo’s robust hull was laid up by Uniflight in 1976 and cosmetic blisters have shown up on the topsides between the water line and the toerail. Still the hull is more substantial the most modern boats floating. There are plenty of Valiant 40s that have goon three times around the world with cosmetic blisters, giving their owners the opportunity of a lifetime to sail one of the world's best sailing boats!
